Apollo doesn’t remember whose idea it was to go out, but he knows that it certainly wasn’t his own. To be fair, it wasn’t like he had put up much of a fight when they invited him, but a club really wouldn’t have been his first choice. And the whole reason he had come to Vegas in the first place, really, was to be close to everyone, to do things with his friends. So, he can’t really complain, it’s just. It’s not really his scene, he thinks as he sits at the bar, watching the rest of his friends mingle with the tightly packed crowd.

But seeing him up close, right there, it’s… different. It’s different. He’s wearing some dumbass tank top, one that makes him look like the world’s nerdiest douchebag, but when he’s this close Apollo can see every individual freckle that dots Steve’s shoulders. He can see the entirety of both of Steve’s arms, and, Jesus Christ, he’s got good arms. Apollo almost feels self-conscious, next to him. But it’s not really jealousy that he feels, looking at Steve. It’s. It’s hard to explain. He doesn’t want to think about it.

He settles against the rail next to her, leaning his side into it rather than his back like she is, and exhales. “Why aren’t you skating?”
“Ah, you know me,” she starts, suddenly unsure and uncertain. What is going to happen now? She won’t fight with him in public, she’ll leave, go home alone before she lets that happen. Rather than continuing to watch Milan and Robbe, she shifts her eyes to a pinpoint across the rink from her, and feels the burn of Senne’s gaze against her face. “I can’t skate to save my life.” After an expectant beat passes, she shrugs. “I just thought doing something together would be fun.”
“Alright,” Senne says, nodding once and shifting out on the ice in front of her and into her line of sight. Another pause, then he reaches out with both hands, tucks his fingers under her arms and slides his hands down until he pulls hers out of her pockets, eyes on hers the entire time, waiting for one cue or another. Zoë lets him, heart rate steadily rising and a shiver building along her spine, and says nothing. “Then I’ll teach you.”

Jens piped up as though he had just had an idea, one that had definitely not been discussed or planned in anyway shape or form. ‘It’s a double bed. You two can just share.’
Robbe would have almost believed the words if it hadn’t been for the eyebrow Jens raised at him challengingly. He thought back to Jens’ earlier words, about how this break could be an opportunity for him to become better friends with Sander.
‘Good idea,’ he bit out. ‘If that’s okay with you?’ He added to Sander as an afterthought. Jens knew him too well, to know that he wouldn’t back out of a challenge like this, even if he knew it was a bad decision.
‘Of course.’
