He was seeing the girl who would have cried herself to sleep had he not been there, who wailed in his arms after returning from the Emerald City, struggled to keep her mask up before a demanding crowd of politicians, meticulously worked at her appearance and her glamour to comfort herself and fuel her pride. For perhaps the only time in their relationship, he saw through every defense. He saw her.Not Glinda the Good.
