    Kaoru retracted his arm, as if burnt. His face disfigured by red hot anger, “Don’t fucking touch me. Expect your phone to be silent,” He snarled. With that, Kaoru turned away once again, and as he was walking, called out, “I hate you.”
    And softly, under his breath, Kojiro said, “I know.”
    ...
    Italy was amazing. Sure, some nights, loneliness made Kojiro’s chest ache and repressed tears pool in the corners of his eyes. But he swallowed it down. Absorbed himself completely in his studies. Filled his down time with flings he didn’t really care about. He took to these meaningless hookups like a drug, hoping every time a new person would touch him in a way that could finally make him forget. It never worked. It was only ever a temporary distraction. If anything, every time he left someone’s bed, the ache hurt more. So Kojiro built up his persona. He became a caricature of himself.

     

    Kojiro needed to tell Kaoru he was planning to go to Italy for culinary school... but he didn't. AKA how Kojiro and Kaoru go from best friends, to not talking at all, to being friends again, to being boyfriends,, AKA how "I hate you" / "I know" change meanings in each instance they're used.

    "Kojiro sente seu estômago se contorcer. Família. Fazia tempo que ele evitava associar essa palavra a qualquer coisa que tivesse relação ao Kaoru. E por mais que ele preferisse manter as coisas assim, ele não tinha como dizer não para as crianças.
    “Bom, se até o Cherry concordou, eu não tenho motivos para não ir.” Ele sorri. E vendo o sorriso dos meninos, Kojiro sentiu que tudo ficaria bem.

    Ele precisou de três segundos olhando diretamente para o cabelo rosa preso em uma trança frouxa para perceber que estava errado."

     

    - Depois de 4 anos divorciados, Kojiro e Kaoru vão viajar com as crianças e precisam encarar seus sentimentos.
