Summary
It starts gradually, like most things in life do. Like rips forming in the back of his favorite Reebok’s. Like dead, brown leaves falling under late-November clouds. Matt never really sees it all coming until it’s too late.
The stages of Matt’s eating disorder, told in 2 parts.

Summary
Matt kind of has a headache. And he’s a bit nauseous from waking up earlier than he wanted to, Chris playing trap in his ear for twenty minutes before he finally snapped at him to get the fuck out. But it’s whatever. It’s fine. He’s fine. He just wishes his attention span wasn’t so shot, so he could maybe contribute to the conversation, but then he remembers they’re being filmed, and he remembers everything that comes out of his mouth comes out too slow or not articulated well enough, so he hunches over a bit lower and decides to keep quiet.
He’s snapped back in the room when Nick introduces the topic with a smug, “we’re gonna be talking about the science of happiness. Which is—I’m so eager to hear what Matt has to say about everything that we talk about today.”
“Negative Matt,” Chris says with a conforming nod.
And to top it all off, because there’s no feeling like feeling cornered, Nick adds yet another, “negative Matt.”

Summary
A cutlass was at his throat. He swallowed, searching down at the young man before him. His jaw was clenched, his face was turned downward as if angry, but his eyes and his shaking hand gave him away. And familiarly hit Chris like sails to a mast.
Chris grinned against the steel. “Who do we have here, boys?”
Matt gets kidnapped, Nick has a brother and a treasure map to hunt down, and Chris really needs to cool it with the side-quests.

Summary
Matt can’t stand the smell of candles, and this is something Nick’s come to know throughout the years of his life. So, when he finds a lighter in Matt’s backpack, he’s taken aback. He holds it in his palm and tries to imagine a reason for Matt to even own one. Tries to imagine a scenario where he’d go out and purposely spend his money on it.
He puts the lighter back where he found it in the small pocket of Matt’s black bag. Maybe Chris slipped it in there. Maybe Matt picked it up at a party. Maybe he didn’t even know it was sitting there, taunting Nick with a series of “what if’s.”
Either way, Nick has a hunch. And he hopes he isn't right.

Summary
“Here, take it and go,” Matt said, holding out the cup.
“I haven’t even said why I’m here.”
“I assumed you came for the coffee?”
Chris scoffed, flicking his glasses up on his head. At least his eyes looked the same. “Of course you remember I prefer dark roast over light, but you somehow forgot my phone number.”
Famous Sturniolo twins, Chris and Nick, slip up in an interview and fuel rumors of a secret third brother. They take it upon themselves to hunt this brother down, but their plan has one flaw—Matt doesn’t want anything to do with them.
