They play against Itachiyama, they play against Sakusa Kiyoomi and they laugh at the confused glances he sends the twins whenever they score, whenever they set and spike perfectly, whenever they bicker because that set was sloppy or shuddup, you could’ve gotten that. Atsumu feels that weird, sludgy and uncomfortably hot feeling spreading through his stomach when he sees them talking to each other post-match, when Sakusa laughs and his eyes crinkle, when Osamu laughs along with him. It looks right, he thinks, the two of them existing in perfect harmony, their laughs reverberating in perfect synchrony, in a way Atsumu could never hope to replicate. Sakusa Kiyoomi, Miya Osamu’s soulmate and reason for Miya Atsumu’s unbecoming: doesn’t it sound like a great title for his autobiography?

Summary
He’d seen it in dramas and foreign movies—the protagonist always has to overcome his greatest fear or finally act on his deepest desire in order to escape. Luckily, those two things were one and the same for Kiyoomi. Unluckily, this likely meant that he had to choose between slowly going insane from the loops or finally confessing his secret romantic feelings for Miya Atsumu. It was a tough decision.
(Trapped in a time loop of his 25th birthday, Kiyoomi takes advantage of the repeats to finally act on his feelings for Atsumu.)

Summary

“Omi, was it?” And there’s the voice that Sakusa so desperately wishes he could ignore. He turns to meet the catcher’s gaze anyway.
“Kiyoomi. I prefer Sakusa.”
“Right, Omi. Ya pitch?”
“According to my contract.”
“Listen,” Atsumu adjusts himself once more so he’s relaxed along the chair rather than sitting on the cushion properly—legs again propped onto the armrest, “I’m gonna be yer catcher nine times outta ten and I love this game. We can both at least agree that a workin’ relationship would be beneficial for the both of us.”

finally called up to the majors, kiyoomi is thrilled to be playing baseball just as he always dreamed. until he realizes that playing at this level includes playing nice with miya atsumu—baseball's walking media circus. surely the media couldn't be that wrong about the hot-head catcher, right?
