Until tonight, Hei Xiazi had thought the biggest risk to his health on this job had been some long-dormant latex allergy suddenly surfacing. Which was, in his forties, rare, but never medically impossible. This was something he had pointed out to his shift manager when he’d been informed this week he was pulling his shifts in the Zombie Hospital part of the Nightmares Alive! walkthrough attraction. He was still promptly handed a nurse’s outfit.
“Am I a fucking joke to you?” he asked.
“Yes,” said shift manager, a wise-ass little teenager named Li Cu, replied, grinning obnoxiously. “Fucking obviously. Any questions?”
