Summary
Carlton—the one Mike imagines—is a journalism major. He loves Back to The Future, and pretty much anything sci-fi. Growing up, he was a middle child, which left him starved for attention, and therefore the ability to stick his nose in all sorts of places it didn't belong. That's where he discovered his love of journalism: at only 12 years old he broke a major case in his small hometown. Mike's not 100% sure what it was—a mayor corruption cover-up, maybe? He's outgoing, and he pushes Will out of his comfort zone. If there's one thing Mike knows about Will, it's that he needs that. He's never tried DnD, but he's willing to. Maybe, if they're together for long time, he'll join the party for a session. Will isn't with him for his looks, but he's pretty handsome. Scruffy black hair, thick eyebrows, tall (but not too tall), and lean. When they stand together they just make sense. And he's strong, because he knows it's his job to protect Will. That's his number one priority: making sure Will is happy and cared for.
Will introduces his boyfriend to the party for the first time, and he's nothing like Mike expected. This causes him to crash out. Hard.

Summary
At first, Mike was unsure how to approach him when he got like this. But they’ve been living together for months now, never further than five feet apart in their dorm beds, so Mike’s learned what works and what doesn’t.
It works when he wakes Will like this, with gentle hands and words, telling him he’s safe. It works when he climbs into Will’s warm bed, turning him on his side and curling up against his back, an arm over his waist and his cheek pressed against his shoulder. They lie together like that until Will’s hiccupping gasps soften into steady breaths, until Mike feels him go limp in his arms and he knows he’s fallen back asleep. It always works.
or: Will has nightmares and Mike is the only one who can console him. Not even Will's boyfriend can. Mike takes great pride in this fact.

“You don’t know how many of your shirts I have because I check them whenever you throw stuff away.” Will scoffs, resting his hands on Mike’s chest. He doesn’t know why Mike was looking at him like his prey all because he was wearing his shirt. He can wear his boyfriends shirts. Boyfriends do that, right? Right?
“Really?”
Or: Will Byers doesn’t know why his boyfriend keeps staring at him with Mike’s HellFire Shirt on.

“Mike.” Will shifts his attention to the boy they’re talking about who’s talking to the others with his hands in his pockets. “he’s always like tilting his head like a stupid dog. Sort of like a Border Collie.” He can see the resemblance of Mike being a dog. His clinginess around Will always wanting to have skin to skin contact with him at all times

“Yeah..” Will trails off, eyes pinched together in curiousity. “Like a dumb dog.”
