Summary
Written for the 2026 Side Quest NPC Mini-Big Bang. Chapter 2 illustration by @Skelevee.
G'raha's dream has finally become a reality: after years of study, he has finally been assigned to research the Crystal Tower in Mor Dhona. But Eorzea is a far-away land, and there are many things he must leave behind if he is to pursue his goal and fulfill his life's purpose. Many things, and a few someones, including one mysterious, green-haired student; a student he definitely doesn't have a crush on, and most certainly isn't avoiding saying goodbye to...

Summary
V’najih is used to seeing signs, especially where others might only see coincidence, and he’s no stranger to the gentle nudging of the universe. But when he wakes one morning and the universe tugs him toward the Adventurer’s Guild, the chance meeting that follows could change the trajectory of his life forever.
"V'najih!" she cried, arms thrown wide in welcome. Najih met her at the counter and bowed in greeting. "If you've come to dance for us, it's a bit early yet. Hardly anyone about at this hour."
"Not today," he answered. "I'm waiting for someone."
"Oh?" Momodi leaned in, her smile conspiratory. "Someone special?"
"I think so," said V'najih, his smile patient. "But not the way you mean."

Summary
When Lahabrea is called away on urgent business just before the Convocation is to convene, Kairos and Plexaure (twin souls who share the seat of Azem) seize the opportunity in the name of chaos.
As one does.
Today was special. Lahabrea had been called away on urgent business just before they went into session, and Kairos had seen an opportunity. As with most opportunities, the Azems had seized it with extreme prejudice; at Kai’s suggestion, Plex had temporarily fused the two seats together with no small amount of malevolent glee. The throne-like chairs now stood back-to-back, with Kairos in one and Plex in the other, on a rotating platform of Plexaure's own making.
It was the best idea they'd ever had.

Summary
When the Warriors of Light find themselves with some free time, what better way to spend the time than a days-long fishing trip? Unfortunately, something keeps eating Iojrao’s bait. Even more unfortunately, Blahaj seems intent on doing something about it. Something only the Warrior of Light could get away with. Something… stupid.
“Come on, Ioj, don’t let one fish—or dolphin, or sea monster—defeat you! We’ve faced tougher beasties before!”
“Get down,” Ioj said, but she was laughing when she scooped them from their perch and set them back on the deck. “That’s different. Primals are one thing, fishing is another. I can’t exactly fight a fish.”
“Why not?”

Summary
When an unexpected caller interrupts Iojrao's morning, she's not entirely sure where the conversation will lead; nor does she anticipate being forced to face her growing fondness for the Second Promise of Tuliyollal. She is certain there is something between them, but has the feeling faded now that the Rite is over?
“Surprised to see me?” he asked. “I suppose it is only natural…”
Koana was impeccably dressed, of course; his customary green coat brushed the tops of his boots as it rustled in the seaside breeze. Iojrao had never seen him with a hair out of place (except, perhaps, just after a fight), but the comparison to her own garb—a loose wrapped top, cuffed canvas shorts, and a pair of plush house slippers—made her feel a bit underdressed.
In the five seconds it took her to reboot, Koana took in her casual attire and unbound, slightly-damp hair and frowned, his cheeks turned rosy.
“Apologies for coming unannounced. If this is a bad time—”
“No, no, it’s a great time!” Whoa. Calm down, Iojrao. “What I mean is, I’m not doing anything important. Just enjoying some morning sunshine.” Better.
“I see. Then may I come in?”

Summary
"I think you’re the only person I can stand looking in the eye," Hermes had told her once with a watery smile. Then he had laughed at himself for calling her a Person, and Meteion had laughed because he was laughing, and Hermes never made that mistake again. Now she is just Meteion, or Entelechy, or the lost little sounds he makes in his sleep when the dreams come.
[In a fit of rage, Meteion mirrors Hermes's self-destruction in the worst possible way.]

"You are quite far from everyone and everything you have ever known." The Exarch drew him lower and pressed a soft kiss to Thancred's forehead. "I understand," he said, with the tone of one who did.
