Summary
Sonic and Shadow had talked about coming out to the rest of their friends before. But they never thought that stopping Eggman's latest scheme and saving the world would lead them to make their relationship publicly known. The universe really liked messing with them.
My AU of the final 2 episodes of Sonic Boom Season 2. An AU where Shadow isn't an overly aggressive edgelord and does not fall for Eggman's poorly edited video.

"I don't know Shads, I've forgotten..." Sonic admitted quietly, also sounding flabbergasted and mildly mortified. "I was in a rush when Tails told me about Starfall Islands and it just slipped my mind—"
"Tomorrow." Shadow cut him off with a grumble, throwing an arm over his face as he exhaled through his nose. "You'll do a test tomorrow.”
"...Fine." Sonic groaned, knowing Shadow was right.
