Summary
Sonic is left reeling from letting Shadow fall to Earth and die.
Shadow is somehow still alive, though. After working with him and a bat named Rouge to save the world yet again, Sonic accepts Shadow’s existence in the world.
And Shadow accepts Sonic’s presence in his life. He has to reconcile with what that means exactly when Rouge’s hints that Sonic’s feelings might run deeper than Shadow thought.

Summary
Sonic has been alone dealing with the aftermath of Starfall Islands for a few weeks. He isn’t doing too good, but he refuses to reach out to anyone about the problems he won’t even address himself.
Sonic gets an opportunity to further distance himself from these problems when GUN requests his help with a mission. Although it takes some convincing from the commander himself, Sonic joins…

Summary
After everything he's done and gone through, Shadow doesn't feel like he belongs on Earth. He doesn't deserve the generosity of the Wachowski's, especially Sonic's effortless compassion.
Tails discovers that Shadow might actually be part of the legions of Black Doom, known as the Black Arms. Shadow doesn't know if he belongs any more on the Black Comet than he does on Earth, but he wants to at least see for himself if there could be a potential place for him.
Shadow is content to go alone. In fact, he plans to. But Sonic is insistent that a journey like this should not be undertaken alone. Shadow can't refuse him even if he tried, so the two hedgehogs go to Black Comet to discover the truth behind Shadow's past.
And maybe, by learning more about the Black Arms and saving the planet, they'll find their way to Shadow's future.
