Buck bit back what he actually wanted to say. He glanced at the guy beside him – who was looking right back, sympathetic look on his face. ”I'm not alone, actually, mom. I'm here with my boyfriend.” He turned the phone just enough to get the guy in frame. With the angle and the bench seat, it looked like they were sitting at the same table.

For some strange reason, George had thought it was going to be the collapsing cliff that killed him.
When he survived that the first time and was halfway to being rescued by the LAFD, he figured it was the second collapse that would take him, plus the two firefighters who fell with him, straight to the Pearly Gates.

Tommy has always been able to see ghosts.
Usually, they stick around for a few days or weeks, maybe several months before they get what they need to move on. There was one ghost, however, who appeared when Tommy was young and seemed to be unable to get the closure he needed to let go and so he just… never left.
He got used to it, after a while, and Daniel became a consistent companion throughout his life.
