It’s hard to breathe. Sunday’s cold anger is pressing in through the Harmony, loud enough to mask the agonizing grief, putting pressure on Ratio’s mind and his chest and settling like a heavy weight in his gut. Still, Ratio laughs weakly. When he speaks it comes out as something between a gasp for breath and a whisper. “Hah … Pathetic.”
Displeasure is clear in the flat stare Sunday looks at Ratio with. He is silent for a long moment before the tension in his expression dissipates into a vindictive smile. “Perhaps you’ll be more amenable to behaving if you are otherwise occupied. You seemed to quite enjoy those activities from our last meeting, after all.”
