You, with your all-American blond hair and green eyes and your quick, smart mouth. You in your I LOVE N.Y shirt, tossing back laugh after laugh. I laughed, too, that day—so much. You, sipping on a bucket of Coke, chasing down the fizzy high with ice cream in every flavor of sweetness. We shared straws, salty fries, the shade under a tree. You, with the easy grin and the slender shoulders. Your back disappearing under the river’s surface, fish swimming in between our legs.
I didn’t have my camera, back then, to capture your everything. I wish I did.

Summary
The year is 1988, and Ash is spending the summer with Eiji at his family's summer home in Izumo while his parents go on vacation abroad. It's hot and they've got nothing better to do besides laze around and be together.
Feelings are confusing and communication is hard. Ash is fucking whipped. However, they somehow both end up falling for each other like a couple of idiots in the sweltering heat of summertime.
