Summary
His entire body was sore at first, then it was only his limbs, then only his fingers. He remembers managing to crawl out a pile of dead bodies and waddle in the streets aimlessly until someone– until his sister finds him, patches up the opened wound (that he didn't even know he had) and brings him home. A home that he didn’t even know where it was located.
That's what the start of the apocalypse looks like to him.
And now he's currently trying to figure out how to transfer several potted plants into one place. Clearly much more important matters to worry about than the collapse of society.

Summary
"He’s heard, of course, of homunculi: Artificial humans created through the use of ancient alchemy, a practice which has long since been lost to time. He also knows, however, that these homunculi lack a human soul. There has never been a recorded case of successfully creating a homunculus who can speak and act on its own will, because an artificial person, by definition, cannot have something it is not given, and to give someone a soul… Xiao does not want to know where a borrowed soul might come from."
Xiao and his master, Zhongli, come across an unconscious homunculus during the last snow of the season, one that houses a peculiar, fractured soul. In hopes of discovering the purpose of Albedo's creation, Zhongli assigns the task of 'completing' him to Xiao in hopes that his apprentice will discover the reasons behind Albedo's creation and the purpose of the soul that inhabits him.
