Tom Riddle isn’t particularly happy about working at a small, dingy shop for magical artifacts, no matter how interesting those artifacts are. He’s even less happy when an insufferable stranger sets up the most obnoxious flower shop right across the street.
What follows would be a romantic comedy, if it weren’t for politics.

He says, Damn it, Cas, if Cas takes a step too deep into the woods without him, and then he yanks, takes the angel by the hand, brings him closer and closer, and with hands on Cas' hips, he guides him.
And then eventually, the true hunger of purgatory gets to Dean.

“Remind me not to piss you off,” Dean jokes on reflex. Death sends him a look that reads, Do you really need reminding? That can be arranged.
Dean doesn’t find that hot. He doesn’t.
Sam has the wide eyes of someone actively being scarred for life.
Then Sam coughs, “Gay,” into his fist. It goes against all of Sam’s values, is frankly pretty stupid given the warnings Dean gave him less than ten minutes ago, technically doesn’t make sense, and if it does makes sense, then it’s hypocritical as fuck. Which means he ignored all of that just to give Dean a hard time. Now that’s love.
Dean socks him in the arm, hissing, “Behave.”
“You behave.”

Death raises his eyes from his plate, staring Dean down with the whole of his attention. Dean has no notion of his own shyness—the way he looks up from under his lashes and searches for the shadow of his own father in every man’s face.
Death sees straight to the bottom of him, as so few creatures can. The animal body of Dean knows this. As does his soul. The conscious mind cannot conceive of it, but the rest of him cannot deny.
Dean’s mouth clicks shut, and he very wisely raises his fork again.
Or: Pie is eaten, existential crises are had, and the world will never be the same.

Neither emotion compared to that of relief, for even if he wasn’t in control, seeing Itadori’s body in front of him had to mean that the boy was alive— had been alive all this time.
Their hope hadn’t been in vain.
About to open his mouth and address the curse, Sukuna raised a finger to his face and stopped him. He looked the sorcerer over in search of something and let out a growl between his teeth, leaving Nanami unsure if he found what he was looking for.
Then, Sukuna spoke.
“Tell anyone that we are here, and I will see that as an attack worth killing you over.”
❤ Itadori Yuji disappeared off the face of the earth exactly one year ago. Theories, accusations, and threats have been made during the search to bring him home, but no worthwhile progress has been made in light of the efforts of those who care about him.
