"He was an absolute asshole to her that first day, and they hadn’t spoken since, not that she’d have wanted to. She was nervous to see him again, but ready for whatever his reaction might be. She’d take his lead- if he wanted to be mean and snip at her every opportunity he got, she was happy to give it right back to him. If he wanted to smile, make amends (they taught you that in rehab, she was pretty sure), and play nice, she’d gladly smile, make amends, and play nice. Ball was in his court, and she planned to pass him back whatever he threw at her today. He wanted to keep up appearances, pretend like nothing was wrong and everything was fine? Fucking cakewalk for her at this point. Wouldn’t be the first time."
or: the one where Trinity and Frank hate each other. but isn't there a saying about there being a fine line between love and hate?
