"I mean it was just a kiss," Catra replies carefully dodging her friend’s gaze.

Summary
It is not until she is standing at the top of the steps in the palace’s main courtyard, a crowd of the handful of people whose love for her she questions only on her worst days dispersed in front of her—and her old self would be surprised to learn by how many former adversaries this crowd contains—that Azula calms. It is also not until, at the end of the courtyard, flanked by Mai on one side and Suki on another, Ty Lee appears in radiant red, that Azula allows her shoulders to relax and the muscles of her face to lift into a smile.

Summary
“Can we be like that again?” Azula asked. She felt so small for asking, but that’s what she wanted: to be taken back to a time before. Before she’d been forced to face how broken she was beneath the polished mask of a princess.
Before she knew it, she and Ty Lee were laying on their backs against the stone floor. It was miles more painful than her old bed had been — she never realized how much she’d miss that — but still they endured. The straitjacket made it awkward, but she managed to balance herself to be looking straight upward. Ty Lee looked up too, not worrying about getting her kimono dirty. They were only a few feet away, still separated by bars but close enough to hear, to feel each other breathe.
So much of the proper scene was missing, but everything still seemed alright.

“Lord Agni,” Azula says, swallowing a laugh. It’s hilarious that she’s down on her knees, praying like she can rely on any force but herself. “I have power, but I’d like some more if you’d be so obliging. Power to get the things I want. Power so grand, it’ll shock everyone on earth- even me, if you can manage that.” She snorts before adding on her last ridiculous, meaningless request. “Power to match the Avatar’s or outdo him, if you’d like!”
Or: after the Boiling Rock debacle, Azula gets what she didn't quite wish for and wakes up as an airbender.
