“Language,” Fox admonished. “Well, I was just living my normal boring life and I thought to myself, ‘I don’t get called an ugly piece of banthashit often enough.’ So I decided to adopt you.”
Boba snorted. “You’re a psychopath,” he told Fox.
“I’ve been called worse,” Fox replied breezily.
Boba doesn’t find a new family and Fox doesn’t become anybody’s dad; an adoption story.

Boba Fett, twenty-six and a rising power in Jabba the Hutt's court, has spent three years taking any and every job he could get his hands on to earn his way up into the worm's good graces. Boba's tired of being hungry, of running out of hyperfuel, of drifting from system to system only to find scraps left for him to make his living. He's ready to make a name for himself.
He's not about to let some upstart Mandalorian in mismatched armor get in the way of that.

Fett made a strange sound that might have been a laugh. “You weren’t missing out on much. When did you run with the Hutts? I would’ve remembered you.”
Din and Fett would have fought over the highest-paying jobs like massifs over a bone. They would have despised each other. Din was still getting to know Fett, had really only spent a few hours with him, but Din knew that much at least. Din smiled.
“I was young,” he said, reaching back through his memories. “It was back during the Empire days. I was maybe… twenty standard? Twenty-one?”)

"Boba snuffled closer against him in his sleep, his small hand grasping at Obi-Wan’s tabards until they pulled aside. Without his undertunic, still sitting loosely on Boba’s own frame, this revealed enough of his chest that one nipple was exposed to the chill of the air. He shuddered and reached over, intending to pull the fabric back, but froze, staring down at his own chest as the nipple became pink and stiff in the cold.
He’d been too young himself on Melida/Daan, to have presented yet, but some of the older children, had already gone through puberty and emerged omega. The planet had been at war long enough that resources weren't wasted on things like suppressants and it hadn’t taken much time being surrounded by hungry babes for their bodies to respond. They had started producing stress induced prolactin, and then their milk had come in and they’d been able to feed at least a few hungry mouths.
He could do this. All he needed was something sharp."

When the Empire had taken over. Echo had been the only one in his squad to not react to Order 66. Mind you, the Bad Batch had all reacted differently to it compared to the regs. But they still reacted.
Echo had tried to get them to see reason, had tried to be the moral compass, had tried to figure out what was happening. And then proceeded to get shot because of it.
