Michael Emerson is hiding several things. First, there's the fact that his dad has been knocking him around. Second, he's been having some weird symptoms. Things like severe dehydration and strange rashes. Things he should probably tell his mom but if she won't believe him about the first thing then she definitely won't believe the second.
When his mom accepts a job offer to run a bed and breakfast in Santa Carla, Michael is grateful for the reprieve... or he would be except his symptoms get worse the closer he is to the ocean. And then there's this weirdly obsessive lead singer that's chasing him around....

Summary
Michael lived hidden away his entire life. First running from hunters, then from his own father. Michael is sick of running and wants something to change.
When offered a deal from a witch to turn him part human, he accepts the deal not knowing what he was getting into.
David thought he would be stuck under Max's thumb until the day one of his so called tests killed him. But hope is sparked when a siren keeps coming back to their ship even after David warns him.
He wants nothing more than to free them all from the clutches of Max but in order to do that he'll need to learn how destroy a witch at their own game.
