Summary
After his adoption from the slums, Ivan was forced by his adoptive father, Unsha, to become the perfect prince for the throne. But, having lived a life where decisions have always been made for him, Ivan's view of the world slowly became muddled by the muted colors of his "perfect" lifestyle. He needed to smile and laugh when asked and perform exceptionally at everything. There was no end to the demands that left him feeling so empty inside.
That was until the day he heard of the trades called 'The Servitude' that involved the creatures that existed between the gray spaces of humanity: the Divine Beasts. They were creatures from the Sacred Forests scattered across the empire and were rumored to have jewel-like eyes and the most captivating voices that ever existed; Ivan had heard about them a lot while growing up under Unsha's watchful eye.
The first time Ivan saw one was when Duke Urak from the West arrived with a Divine Beast named Till in tow.
With a ferocious voice that reached the ends of those ridiculously extravagant halls and eyes that held the intense flames of hatred, Ivan was at a loss for words at the sight of him.
That beast wasn't meant to be caged.
He needed to be free.
