This was probably because he knew better than to say “You must be out of your mind!” or any other phrase, presumably filled with profanity, that likely sprang immediately to mind – if only because it would have been the end of his career, and quite possibly his life, to do that.
(“What were they thinking?” Tajiri no Yasumori, who'd gotten stuck with it in the end, asked one of his senior colleagues in despair. “Or were they even thinking at all? I mean – do they really want me to – to – audit Abe no Seimei?!”)

He's disillusioned after the murder of his master is covered up by the worst scum villain and the sect head looks the other way. He becomes the protagonist's best friend and top supporter after they meet and work to uncover the scum villain. He was strong enough to fight on par with Liu Qingge, and that's before he goes off on the training journey in the endless abyss where he meets Bing-ge. He's super good looking and he's fucking ripped. If I didn't make him stone-faced and bad with women, he would have been ripped apart by you assholes, my precious punching son. Don't look down on Ling Li!"
"Yes, fine," says Shen Qingqiu, rolling his eyes. "But I didn't murder Liu Qingge. So what's next?"

In 1990, prominent Muggleborn research wizard Cromwell Albertson embarked on an ambitious project to interview six Muggle-born students – before and after their life-changing discovery of their wizarding talent. He continued these interviews over the next nine years, a period of time which spanned both the Chamber of Secrets attacks in 1992 and Voldemort’s second rise and subsequent persecution of Muggleborns in 1997. The Pensieve Projection that resulted won a Superbius award for artistic excellence in 2002 and has been required viewing in the Hogwarts Muggle Studies course since 2008.

I am in LOVE. What a deliciously hot masterpiece. What amazing teasing. What wonderful character voices. I could read this over and over, and definitely have. And of course, the OT3 that should be.
