“I did believe in us,” Osamu says. The lamp-post above them momentarily flickers on and off, a cast of shadow blinking in and out across Osamu’s profile. “I never intended to lose you,” he adds quieter.

In which tennis player Akaashi Keiji has his sights set on the Japan Open, but there’s one problem: his ex Miya Osamu. And no matter how he tries, Keiji can’t seem to escape their past relationship.

As Osamu recounts the next few moments, Keiji barely remembers them, not until the fresh memory of the gift box in his palm. It held a small and golden ring with an inscription on the inside—治. It was all beautiful, the ring finally on Keiji’s finger, Osamu’s hands trailing down to his waist, and then finally their soft lips pressed together.
“I want you in my life forever, Keiji,” Osamu had said quietly.

But there’s something sweet in this too, on this quiet night here in Irvine. To see how much Tooru has grown into himself in the last few months, and to hear the sweet cadence of his voice in his new Argentine accent. And on the precipice of their parting once more, with the knowledge of just how hard Tooru has worked to get to this very spot, and how hard he’ll continue to work to get to his dreams.
There’s still so much of the world the both of them have yet to see, and Hajime doesn’t want to miss any of it.

Summary
It’s quiet after that, as Hajime holds Tooru as he falls asleep. He listens to the whirring crickets outside the San Juan apartment, then to Tooru’s eventual breathing. Tooru’s still wearing that golden ring even asleep, its warm metal bleeding into Hajime’s shoulder.
Hajime wishes it could be branded into his skin, a permanent reminder of Tooru’s touch for all the days he’ll be away. Then he’s drifting off too, thinking of all the places he’s been now besides Irvine. Sendai, Buenos Aires, San Juan. And the one person connecting him through all of them: Tooru.
In which Hajime visits Tooru in San Juan for the first time.

Soon enough, the weekly community garden meetings with Osamu were what Keiji looked forward to. There was something so dependable and constant about Osamu that Keiji couldn’t shake, and he uncovered a little bit more of it in that Shibuya garden plot every week.
Keiji came to love early summer for this reason, and whenever asked his favorite month, he would undoubtedly have an answer: June. And right under his tongue was a single familiar word.
Osamu.
Keiji joins a community garden and meets someone named Miya Osamu.

Summary
San Juan was never the same as it was with Iwaizumi, when Oikawa would wake up in the sweltering heat of his flat almost drowning in Iwaizumi’s arms. These were the days Oikawa longed for, to be embraced by Iwaizumi’s touch perhaps under the plaza, or even in the depths of his own flat.
Iwaizumi visits Oikawa in San Juan, even in the midst of his jet lag.
