Summary
Buck nods in understanding, looking down at their intertwined hands. "You don't have to worry about me, you know."
You're doing better. Sorry that I'm not.
"I don't think I know how to stop," Eddie confesses.
Buck looks at him for what feels like a long time, his mouth in a line.
Then he swallows, squeezing Eddie's hand again. "Eddie, I think you need to talk to someone."
Or: Buck is doing better. Eddie is still struggling after New Mexico. (A 9x16 coda/9x17 spec fic)

Summary
"You're really just gonna sit there and act like it didn't happen," he mutters.
Eddie looks up at him, a small fond smile on his face that's reserved only for Buck.
"I'm going to marry you someday," Eddie murmurs. "Do you want French toast?"
Buck nearly chokes on his coffee. There was no way he heard that correctly…right?
"Uh," he splutters. "What did you just say?"
"Do you want French toast?"
"Before that," Buck clarifies.
"Oh." Eddie's smile only grows wider. "I'm going to marry you someday."
or: Buck and Eddie share a bed, a kiss, and a pancake. In that order.

Summary
Once is a fluke. Twice could be considered a coincidence, but this is Buck, poster child for ADHD and former sex addict (self diagnosed) extraordinaire. This is a pattern, and Eddie is already thinking about how he can use this little quirk to his advantage.

“I'm just–”
He would attribute the crack in his voice to his screaming after the well collapsed on top of him. He felt like he was always screaming for help, but no one ever came. Always screaming, always drowning.
“I'm just really cold,” he finally said.

Summary
“I’m not talking about the job,” Eddie said quietly.
Wait, what?
“Okay,” Buck said slowly. “What are you talking about?”
“I'm gay,” Eddie blurted out.
Yeah, there was no way that Buck could misinterpret that.
The employee stocking the milk behind Eddie turned his head around so fast he could've given himself whiplash.
Buck gave him a look that said mind your business, Milk Boy. Milk Boy muttered something to himself before just shaking his head and resuming his task.

"Late one night you dug me out of my grave and
Saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia
Keep it one hundred on the land, the sea, the sky
Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes
Don't care where the hell you been 'cause now you're mine
It's 'bout to be sleepless night you've been dreaming of
The fate of Ophelia"

Summary
He gulped. “Are you gonna move out?”
Buck bursted out laughing. “Of course not.”
Are you fucking kidding me?
Eddie let out a nervous giggle. “But you said that you would move out in a heartbeat if your house was haunted.”
“I don't scare that easy,” Buck said proudly. “I have to assert my dominance, Eddie.”
“You have to assert your dominance…over a ghost?”
“The ghost doesn't pay the rent! I pay the fucking rent!”
-
Or: Eddie wants Buck to move back in with him, so naturally, he tries to convince him that his new house has a ghost problem.

Summary
“We're not a couple,” Buck eventually spat out.
It was the truth, but he ignored the way the words felt like poison in his mouth.
“This morning at breakfast I watched you feed him a strawberry,” Chimney said.
Buck glared at him from behind the couch. “It was a perfectly platonic strawberry feeding.”
“If it's so platonic, feed me a strawberry right now,” Ravi demanded.
“I'm not going to do that,” Buck responded.
“And why not, Buckley?”
Buck threw his hands up. “Because you're allergic to strawberries, dumbass!”
or: Buck feeds Eddie a strawberry and then acts totally normal about it.

Summary
“Eddie,” his voice cracked. “It’s Bobby.”
He heard Eddie let out a breath. “How bad is it?”
“He's dead.”
A sob ripped out of Buck’s throat as he collapsed to his knees in front of the engine. He’s dead. The words felt like poison on his tongue. Those words shouldn't apply to anyone he loves. Eddie was saying something but Buck’s ears were full of cotton. He’s dead. Bobby is dead. My dad is dead.

Summary
“Tommy and I got into a fight,” Buck said, shouldering past Eddie into the kitchen. He had a duffel bag in his hand and dropped it right onto the kitchen table.
Eddie looked down at the bag and then back up at Buck. “You guys got into a fight and now you wanna move in?”
Buck shook his head. “No, that’s not…I have an idea.”
Eddie narrowed his eyes in confusion.
Buck looked desperate and he was breathing heavily, like he was going to explode.
“Buck, you’re freaking me out, man.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“What was your idea?”
“I was thinking…that maybe you and I could go to Texas and get Chris.”Or: Buck shows up at Eddie's house with two tickets to El Paso and a plan to get Chris back and Eddie, of course, goes along with it.
