Summary
Eight days before Halloween, Jayce and Viktor are in their lab, doing science, and all is as it should be. At least, that is, until Dmitri (the nerve!) shows up, and asks Viktor to his fancy dress party.
Jayce expects him to say no, but in a plot twist, Viktor says yes, although he does first make sure that the rest of his dorm are also invited. Seeing this take place right in front of him leads Jayce to an epiphany, and he realises how he really feels about Viktor.“Vi,” he begins, ready for her world to be rocked as much as his has just been, “I’m in love with Viktor!”
Vi visibly relaxes. “Oh, is that all? Yeah, we know, we've been waiting for you to notice.”
For the second time in half an hour, Jayce’s jaw drops open in astonishment. “Huh?”There's only one way to deal with this revelation, and that is to come up with a Halloween costume so amazing that it sweeps Viktor off his feet, and into his arms.
Viktor has been in love with Jayce forever, but a man can only yearn for so long. Now, though, he has a plan, to find an outfit so spookily sexy that it will either sweep Jayce off his feet, or he'll know that there is no hope for his feelings ever to be returned.

Jayce watches as Viktor holds his arm up to his mouth with both hands. Before continuing, he gives Jayce one last look, pupils blown out surrounded by red. This is a man he’s only met tonight. By all means, Jayce shouldn’t be trusting someone with something as potentially dangerous as this, and yet…he gives Viktor confirmation with a nod. No one-night stands, but a vampire drinking from him is perfectly fine? The irony is not lost on him.

Viktor gave Jayce a few more minutes before grabbing his cane and hauling himself to his feet. The light was on under the bathroom door when he reached it, and he cautiously rapped his knuckles against the wood. “Jayce? Are you alive in there?”
He heard a groan from the other side. “Unfortunately.”
“Is something wrong?”
There was a long, somewhat concerning pause before Jayce replied. “I, uh. I got my period.”
