Summary
Blurg sighed. “I am old, Omeluum. And I worry. It cannot be helped.”
“I know this.” It leaned in and brought its forehead to Blurg’s. Blurg closed his eyes. “I also know I will be safe, so long as I am with you.”
“I don’t know how true that is,” Blurg said with a laugh, “but you won’t be alone. That I can promise you.”
or: omeluum's curiosity brings it and blurg to baldur's gate where, despite all the best intentions, everything still manages to go terribly wrong.

Summary
"Minsc," Astarion growled, his voice dripping with disdain, "Do you seriously mean to tell me that you came down to the Underdark with not a single health potion on you?"
Minsc smiled. "Why would Minsc need to bring a health potion when he is so strong, my friend?"
“Oh, I don’t know,” Astarion clenched his jaw and hissed a long, seething breath from between his teeth. "Perhaps," he glowered, "to help an ally with a broken leg!"

Summary
"I think I might have given you the wrong impression," Wyll said, smile sheepish, "I don't, ah, expect you to do anything in return. For me."
There was silence again for a long, awkward moment. For once Astarion was glad to be dead, at least there would be no visible sign of humiliation on his face. All his life he'd been told he was good for one thing only, but the past few tendays had made it abundantly clear that maybe he wasn't good for even that much. He should be relieved that Wyll didn't want to fuck him, but instead he felt only a vertiginous uncertainty.

Astarion doesn't know what Wyll could possibly see in him besides the obvious. Wyll shows him.Bookmarked by jaylien

Summary
Meditation is not sleep, and reverie is not quite dreaming. Fever can shunt humans into a horrible half-sleep. Elves, instead, get one foot caught in memory.
Memory can be unkind.

Summary
So here he is: a monster in the wilderness, a shadow crawling in the sun, trying desperately to be more than his nature. Than the terrified creature two centuries of torment shaped him into.
(Or Astarion reclaims his personhood, one fraught, determined step at a time. And with a little help along the way.)
