Summary
The thing is ugly. It’s roundish and bumpy and its spines are black and irregular. The more Hob looks at it, the more he’s impressed by how truly horrid it looks.
He reaches out and picks it up, careful to not hurt himself with the damn spines. “Perfect,” he murmurs to himself.
“Excellent find,” a deep and beautiful voice says, making him almost jump. “You have chosen a magnificent specimen.”

Or, Hob is set on finding the ugliest gift for the head of his department and things (don't) go as planned.

Summary
In Ancient Times, everyone knew how to court an Endless. Those creatures, born at the beginning of time, with powers greater than any god’s; they could only be courted in very specific ways. Through demonstrations of commitment, loyalty and devotion, through the passing of near-impossible tests. Suffice it to say, it rarely happened. But what happens when, after time has passed, and some things have turned into myth, while others have been fully forgotten, a Suitor rises (one who doesn’t even know he’s one?!)?
Or, like I called it in the Sadman Discord, "the one with the surprise wedding in the rain"

Summary
"Uh-oh," Delirium says. Dream studies the car, the white smoke billowing out from beneath the bonnet, listening to the alarming clunking noise that the engine is making.
On his hip, Orpheus, unusually solemn child that he is, gazes soulfully at the car.
"Caw boken," he declares.
Divorced novelist and aging goth Dream Nickson agrees to accompany his sister Delirium on a cross-country journey to Greece, partially to seek out their estranged brother and partially to deliver his son, Orpheus, back to his waiting mother. When their car breaks down before they've even managed to leave England they receive unexpected help from hobby farmer Hob Gadling, whose cheer and kindness mask tragedies of his own.
Trapped by mechanical failure and a sudden storm, Dream now must deal with his trauma, his past, and feelings he'd thought he would never experience again, all in the course of a single day and night spent with a handsome stranger.

Summary
"I am willing to...pay...rent," Dream says, each successive word loaded with more uncertainty, until his voice has actually risen on the word 'rent.' Not quite a question, but as near to it as Dream is likely to get in this situation, which is rapidly becoming desperately uncomfortable (for Dream) and confusing (for Hob).
"Do you know how money works?" is the first question that pops out of Hob's mouth.
After making an ill-advised bet with his sister, Dream of the Endless is rendered completely human for one year. In need of a place to stay he turns to Hob, unaware that his oldest friend has been holding a torch for him for the past several centuries. Human experiences! Living life to the fullest! Overcoming depression! Food trucks!
It's going to be a long year.
