“Still! I’m afraid,” Yeonjun pointed a finger at him.
“Idiot. I was going to ask on a scale from one to ten, how much you would like going on a trip to Japan with me,” Beomgyu tried to seem nonchalant.
“A hundred,” Yeonjun replied in a heartbeat.

He needs something to take the edge off, make the world feel less real, even if only for a few hours. So that he can disappear inside himself, hide from reality, and forget just how terrifying it is to be alive.
And so he allows himself to be led into the bar by a boy he met last night, a boy who smells of cigarettes and violence, who wears battle scars like a badge of honour. Because maybe, this is what he needs.
When Soobin's brother commits suicide, nobody had seen it coming. He's left alone, with no way to cope.

But there Yeonjun was, in Soobin's arms, slowly sliding to lay his head on Soobin's lap without hesitation. He'd let Soobin's hands fiddle with the strands of his hair while he sought warmth under the blanket. When he shifted slightly, he looked up and met Soobin's eyes. There's something tender in his gaze that was unmistakably his, something like fondness.
When Yeonjun looked back at the screen, Soobin wondered why Yeonjun was still there when he could've been anywhere better in the world than that ratty couch they shared in Soobin's apartment.
