“You’re so…different” Silco noted, seemingly to himself as he took Vander’s hand, the older man lifting him like he was feather-light.
“You can say old” Vander cradled Silco’s lower back when he finally stood, his boots finding the right purchase to keep him upright. Vander was acutely aware that he was much too close, the right Silco would only let him get this close so he could gut him like game to stuff and mount on the wall.
Vander swallowed that thought down thickly.

Back at the cannery, Vander is face-to-face with a young version of Silco. As the week unfolds, Vander comes to question all of the choices he's made since that night on the bridge.

The children were quick to exit into one of the back rooms, and just as Jayce paused to consider following them, a looming figure blocked his path. He trailed up from the gigantic work boots that stood grounded on the floor, up to the heavy beer belly adorned in a worn looking white shirt and brown coat, and finally up to a surprisingly attractive pepper colored beard. “Is there something I can help you with, mate?”
Though they met through obligation, Jayce and Vander found themselves wrapped in something more than paying off debts. When Jayce is robbed by Vander's mutts, (Vi, Mylo, Claggor, Powder) Vander promises to make up for it. Soon, they find a mutually beneficial compromise.

Vander stared down at those coins. Stupidity, tourism, and pity, it seemed, like illness-borne shit that stunk all the way up to the fresh air of Piltover. One gold coin was enough of an overcharge; three in return was pointed, knowing.
So, Vander took the one, and flicked the other two, one after the other, right at Javier’s chest. “You can keep the change.”
