Phil lounges on his back, laptop on his thighs playing the newest video from his favourite YouTuber. His grin is impossible to hide anytime he watches something new Dan has posted. He’s unbelievably proud of how far Dan’s come in the last few months of posting videos of his own, and this time is no different. Phil laughs at a quip and his phone begins ringing. His heart leaps into his throat – he hates phone calls.
It nearly stops when he sees who’s calling. He slams his laptop shut and presses the answer button.
“Dan?”

Phil is staring at him, but Dan isn’t willing to let this go. He’s not going to back down on it. Because if Phil will come into his life in the most whimsical way imaginable with no explanations and start challenging his entire belief system, he’s going to drag him down with him.
“I didn’t– I mean….” There’s a complex mix of emotions showing on Phil’s face, none of which Dan can decipher, but he thinks he gets the gist of it.
“You have no clue, do you?” he asks him.
