Summary
Maybe Hunter wouldn’t have liked any of them. Maybe none of them would’ve liked him. Maybe it was a good thing they never met in person, because he knows all too well how disappointingly horrific family can be. Maybe all of these things were true, or maybe they weren't.
They still deserved better than this. They deserved to be remembered, in some sense of the word. And if the last person who'd know they existed was a kid who had no right to be living in their place, then so be it.
This was the least he could do. Really, it was the only thing he could do.

Summary
“...there’s this kid I’m fostering.”
Except for that, which stopped him before he could even start. He was sure the confusion showed, because the man smiled nervously again, and he didn’t lean closer, or whisper, but his voice did drop in tone a bit, not as audible over the clamor of other patrons.
“She, um,” He started to raise a hand, paused, then tapped his left cheek, “she has scars on her face, too.”

Summary
Saying that Hunter was worried for Luz would be an overstatement. He wasn't worried, he was just...vaguely curious. He knew that she'd take some time in the human realm, to be with her mother, but...well, it'd been almost two weeks, and nobody had heard a single thing from her.
So, really, breaking and entering was an entirely reasonable reaction.

Summary
Hunter was always taught to be resilient. Special treatment or no, he was made to be a soldier. One that could, at the absolute minimum, survive until he'd reached safety.
So, he survived. He fled, fell apart, and got back up again. Life doesn't pause when ones whole world is turned inside out and backwards, so he won't try to make it. He'll adapt, learn, and survive. He can do that. He's done it before, and even if it won't last, well, at least he tried.
Unfortunately for him, life also decides to shove him in with people who had the worst survival-instincts he's ever seen. Really, he thinks this is asking just a little much of him.
