“Look,” His dad says quietly, pushing Lance’s hand closer to him, pointing to the middle of his palm. “Do you know what that is?”
Lance, for the first time, takes a careful look at the mark on his palm. His earlier fear is wiped away with confusion. He doesn’t understand what’s so special about it. Other than that he could get in big trouble with his mom for having drawn on himself again. Although now that he’s taking a closer look at it, he sees that it’s not a black smudge, and it actually has a shape. “It’s a knife?”

He looks down, reaching for a tan hand resting on a blanket like one searches for the parachute ripcord on a deep dive against the gravity itself, and squeezes. Lance lets him.
“I don't know how I’d still be sane, if it wasn't for you, honestly,” Keith croaks, voice almost an indiscernible echo in the void.
Lance stares, speechless, lashes fluttering in slow blinks. The world is still spinning, the cosmos is still limitless, countless of atmospheres are breathing, existing, creating new lives right at this moment, and Keith is hopelessly irrevocably dependant on the depthless entirety of the boy in front of him: those are the facts, the undisputable foundations of his rigid existence.
Keith is coping with his new role as a leader. And realizes just how much he and Lance changed in these past few weeks.

Summary
Anathematized after a poor interaction with time-traveling aliens, Lance finds he has the ability to rewind time. Despite its limitations, Lance uses the power to the team’s advantage, both in war and to mess with his friends.
Then he realizes he can confess his feelings to Keith with impunity.
There’s only one problem: the parting words of the aliens who cursed him. His death is prophesied, and not even they know the details of his future. So Lance decides to make the best of what little time he has left.
If that means he spends every waking moment showing Keith his love, before reverting time over and over again so Keith won’t remember it, then so be it. Even if that means he’ll die without Keith knowing how he feels.
Except, there’s one contingency Lance didn’t consider…
