“Of course,” Gabriella says, and oh, this is really happening. Imogen feels her heart start to race. “If you need more time, I—”
“Not at all,” Eddie continues. “Gabriella, this is Imogen, and my husband, Buck.”
Imogen finally steps out from behind her dads, and she’s sure she sees Gabriella’s breathing stop the moment she lays eyes on her.
“Hi,” Imogen says nervously. “I’m Imogen. Obviously. Sorry, I didn’t mean to be so awkward, I—”
“No, not at all,” Gabriella reassures her, “I don’t think any of us really knew what to expect today. So it’s completely understandable that you”—Gabriella’s eyes drift over towards Buck and—“Oh,” Gabriella says, eyes locked on Buck. “It’s you.”

Eddie works with Lena at the 136. They respond to a hotel during the earthquake and when a particularly hard after shock hits, the ground crumbles underneath him. When he finally wakes up, he's in a car park full of rubble and his radio is broken. That's where he meets Hen from the 188. Luckily they are saved by the fire fighters who band together to dig them out. He catches his mate's scent when, but he's lost in the crowd. Eddie hears his mate's thoughts but his mate can't hear his.

“Eds, how am I supposed to help you woo someone if I don’t even know who they are?”
“Come on, you’re so good at this stuff. You take me and Chris to all of these planned out adventures, and…” he trailed off there, clearing his throat.
Buck took that in, and took a moment to settle the weird flutter he had in his stomach. “Fine. But you have to tell me one thing about them. What do they like?”
“Reading. They, uh, They like reading.”
“Okay. I can work with that. What are you doing tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow?”
“Yeah, dude. No time like the present.”
“What are you going to do, give me lessons?”
“Eddie. This was your idea. If you’re not going to tell me who this person is,” and Buck heard it then, his continued use of gender-neutral words. He soldiered on. “Then I’ll just have to show you what a good date looks like.”
“You’re going to take me on a date?”
“Eddie, please keep up,” Buck said, a joking tone forced over real nerves, “I’m going to show you how to woo someone. That’s what you want, right?”
Eddie swallowed, audible in the otherwise quiet kitchen. “Right.”
“Great, then. Tomorrow it is.”
