Summary
Laws were passed to both restrict and ostracize witches, leading many to turn their backs on those in their communities. The Yumeno household already struggled in finances despite the fees they charged for spells, but now they were lucky to get people who wanted spells to begin with on top of only being allowed to cast certain types, otherwise they’d face federal charges. The twins were eighteen at this time, and their grandparents sought to move out of the country to get better work and send money back for their kids, leaving the house in the woods to them.

It’s nice outside, the air still warm from the summer sun despite the sun setting hours prior. The wind is gentle enough to not be a problem for his level of dress but to still feel it push his hair away from his neck and rush across his skin, grounding him. The city streets are lit here and there to mark the other night owls and late night businesses. He wishes just a bit that their apartment faced the beach, if not just to see the gentle rolling of the waves being pushed by the moon. He’s halfway through his juice when he even notices he’s been drinking it.

Dice doesn’t know how to respond, he doesn’t know the situation, what he does know is that this probably isn’t how he was supposed to find out his actual connection to the studio, vague as it is. He knows that Gentaro’s not voicing all of his thoughts, he wishes that he wasn’t holding back, but he can at least appreciate the fact that he’s being told anything at all.

Where is he? He works through that question first, trying to remember what led him to this alley. He was…gambling...and then he was on a great streak...then he was running out of the building? Now why was he running? He can’t place the reason, after a minute of thinking. He really overdid it with the alcohol, maybe it had to do with that? He hears some commotion on the street and looks over, seeing a group of people pass the alley while laughing. He should get out and at least onto the sidewalk, he acts first before actually thinking it.

Just last year he couldn’t get his phone to shut up and now it’s like he lost service. He clicks the Undead group chat, desperate for some conversation with his friends at least.
