Summary
Motoya's eyes seem lifeless, pushing against the weight of his eyelids and just barely hanging onto conciseness. When Motoya's eyes open just wide enough to meet his, it freezes Rintaro in place. All he can think in that moment is that he was never meant to see his teammate in such a vulnerable position. It feels almost like a betrayal, and he can barely hear anything over the pounding of his own heart.
When Rintaro and Osamu find Motoya being assaulted they do everything they can to fix the aftermath.

Eventually, Atsumu leaned forward, his chin resting on his hand as he asked, “So, what’s got ya studying so hard? What’re ya hoping to do?”
“Medicine,” Kiyoomi answered, sounding more casual than he felt. “I’m aiming for a career in the medical field.” He shrugged, trying to brush it off, though the faintest bit of pride seeped into his voice.
“Medicine, huh?” Atsumu’s eyes widened, genuinely impressed. “So you’re smart and pretty?”
Kiyoomi rolled his eyes, though he couldn’t help the smile tugging at his lips. “What about you? Are you… also a student?” He raised an eyebrow, glancing at Atsumu’s athletic build and relaxed demeanor. “No offense, but you don’t exactly give off the college student vibe.”
Atsumu laughed, leaning back with a bit of a smirk. “Fair enough. I’m not exactly in school right now. I play baseball.”
Kiyoomi tilted his head, studying Atsumu. “Are you any good?”
Atsumu’s smirk turned into a full-blown grin. “The best, sweetheart.”
Sakusa Kiyoomi meets pro baseball player Miya Atsumu by chance and it flips his whole world upside down (for the better).

“He writes that he’s been waiting for us,” Kiyoomi said, a ghost of a smile pulling at his mouth as he crossed the room to sit beside Motoya’s trunk. “He wants me to come at once. He’s staying at his family’s house by the coast for the summer. He says I should to bring you along. You remember the house?”
Motoya did. The sprawling white-washed estate perched above the dunes, the way the sea crashed against the cliffs below it, the warmth of the kitchen when the windows were thrown wide and the world smelled like salt and bread. And—of course, Osamu. Atsumu’s twin, though so unlike him. Where Atsumu had been wild and sunlit, Osamu had been shadows and quiet smiles. Older than Komori. Always just out of reach. Always so achingly kind to Motoya when he was a boy who stumbled over his words and felt too much.

Summary
Motoya was a liar.
He was nothing better than a wounded animal backed in a corner- he not only lied to protect himself, but to protect the ones around him.
Motoya's sense of belonging was sparse, his ability to trust was even dimmer. After running from a grueling past of a family that cast him the black sheep, as well as a disloyal relationship, he began to run out of viable reasons to live a truthful life.
The last thing he expected was to stumble into a pre-established relationship, befriending a couple tied to the only person he seemed to trust in the world- his cousin. When friends begin to leak and blur into something more, he found that he could no longer lie to protect himself.He needed to do something that he swore to never do again- open up.

“You clearly are! God, you are no help.” Kiyoomi starts to reach for the clothes he placed on the bench across from the toilet seat but Atsumu’s hands on his hips stop him.
”No, no. It’s fine, y’re right. I just... It’s not the worst thing ever, Omi. But… does it hurt?”
”Yes,” Kiyoomi says after a brief pause. “So… it’s what I think it is, isn’t it?”

Seething, Kiyoomi leaps from his seat to his full height, chest puffed out as though he were an alpha. The sweet-gingery residuals of his scent hanging in the summer air tell a contradicting tale and Miya lounges back on his makeshift throne with one leg hooked over the armrest, grinning smugly as though finding the entire display amusing.
"I won't bow to you," Kiyoomi tells him with a surprisingly unwavering confidence. "You can fuck me, degrade me, pump me full of pups and whatever alpha's like you do, but I won't get down on my knees and beg for it. You'll never have me more than physically."
He doesn't know what he expected, maybe to be hit or worse, but Miya laughs and looks him up and down crudely over the rim of his empty cup.
"We'll see, Kiyoomi, pretty things were born to beg."
