Summary
For Hikaru is a body. His feet leave wet prints on the floor through May’s sultry warmth. His insteps roll, his thumbs push down. His heels lift when he squats beside Yoshiki, prone over the futon, and tells him:
“You should study less.”
In which Yoshiki studies medicine, Hikaru lives in the same apartment, and that’s everyone’s problem.

Summary
“You’re not fine,” Itadori says. "Could be a fever.”
“Really.”
Megumi slips his arm free, wiping his ear, the ringing sound, the stupid impression that the ground is churning beneath his feet. “I still—can take decisions on my own.”
It comes out horribly, and the ‘still’ militates little in his favor. Still. Who cares.
“Of course. You can.”
“And I’m sorry—” God, why is he still speaking? “For the tent. How I—” am a complete asshole.
“No worries,” Itadori says, but he’s speaking slower now, gentle, like Megumi’s the idiot—worse.
He’s watching him again, like in the tent, like Megumi is the tray fallen from the balcony, big doe eyes that make dawn on their own, and Megumi can’t stand it. Does get crushed under cars. Deep in his bones, Megumi knows he’s already stood before eyes like those, caught them smiling at him, then watched them darken. Maybe it rained, maybe not, but Megumi never speaks about this.
or, Captain Fushiguro Megumi doesn’t need help fighting a war he barely understands. The help he doesn’t need disagrees.

Summary
The universe fucking hated him.
That was the only possible answer. Megumi wasn’t much of a theist, but this week had proven that there was a god and that god hated him specifically.
The new hospital manager accidentally scheduling him for thirty two hours on call, Gojo ordering the ER leopard printed scrubs (not the whole hospital — just the ER), and not one but four patients who thought the supply closet was a bathroom hadn’t even been what did him in. No, those were all idiots he could handle.
The idiots he couldn’t handle were the ones he was forced to share the road with.

Summary
“Megumi stopped talking.”
Satoru’s grip tightens on his bag of snacks. “He’s not much of a chatterbox.”
Maki steamrolls past the deflection. “He’s not okay, idiot. You know it.”
“What do you want me to do?” Satoru says lightly. “Tell him his crush isn’t really dead? Surprise, he’s coming back? That’s the only thing he wants to hear. That’s the only thing that could make him feel okay.” He pops open a packet of gummy worms, shoves three in his mouth. “No one in our world is okay."
Gojo might be projecting.

Summary
Yuji’s head hurts from trying to make sense of the whole situation. It’s obvious that Megumi likes that what they’re doing is wrong, but at the same time, having to hide it is precisely what breaks him up inside. It’s a strange contradiction that Yuji can’t quite bring himself to understand.
He thinks that Megumi must be using the lack of morality in their actions as some sort of justification for something. Like, if what he and Yuji are doing is nothing but them being horrible people and bad boyfriends, then it can never go as deep as true intimacy and love between two individuals—two boys. They’re just two people who are doing bad things.
Fuck, but there’s still something incredibly intimate about that. To share such a secret, to be the only people in the world who know what they’ve been doing, is something that feels so deeply personal, that it’s almost romantic.
In which Yuji and Megumi make a series of drunken mistakes.

Summary
“You want to ruin him," Sukuna says.
Maybe Sukuna isn’t wrong about that, Fushiguro thinks in a daze. Itadori’s heart is too heavy and too precious. It’s a burden that shouldn’t be given to anyone else. Because even Itadori himself can’t take care of it, can’t hold onto it for the life of him because he’d rather become the vessel to the most wretched of all curses just to help two people he’s only known for a few months—to help Fushiguro, who he’d only met that night.
(I can keep it. Fushiguro’s hands move. I can hold onto it, if you want.)
Maybe Sukuna’s definition of ruin wasn’t all that wrong from what Fushiguro wanted after all. Maybe that did make him just as wretched.
But if Itadori was still willing to stay beside him, despite knowing that—
Then there was no reason for Fushiguro to let him go.
Or—
Some dreams start to keep Fushiguro up at night, and the cure to stopping them might be closer than he thinks.
