Summary
Sam Wilson is a calm and collected person. He doesn't resort to anger and screaming, and he has a particular talent for staying calm in stressful situations. It was like fire and ice meeting when he met James Barnes, the Winter Soldier whose first reaction to almost everything was to either flee the scene or start a physical or verbal fight. Nonetheless, Sam brought out the best in Bucky and there flourished their romantic relationship.
Now they're engaged, due to marry next fall. Preparations are in order, and Sam feels like he's in some heavenly dream where nothing can go wrong. But Sam Wilson also seems to have an issue when it comes to avoiding trouble. So when Bucky doesn't come home in time for dinner, and instead appears on national television, Sam realises this may or may not be his last straw.
Hurt and betrayed, Sam gives up his role of counsellor in the relationship, and walks out without another word.
