Summary
Following England's devastating loss against Spain in the Fifa Women's World Cup Final, Alessia finds herself struggling to not take it to heart. Not only that but she has been finding it difficult being separated from her girlfriend, who has been out with an ACL since April, meaning she hasn't been there to support her for the entire journey leading up to the World Cup. The troubled striker doesn't know how she's going to cope with the loss of the World Cup and her relocation to a new club, and she's terrified to know if it'll have any strain on her relationship with her best friend.

Summary
There's nothing amiss about the morning at first. Alessia is scrolling peacefully through Instagram, Leah sitting up on the pillows beside her sipping a coffee and reading a book. The March sun is streaming in through the windows, lighting the room and bathing it golden. Leah laughs a little at something in her book, Alessia likes a post; they're quiet, content.
A post featuring her name catches Alessia's eye. They don't always come up but she's been tagged in this one, and several times in the comments too. She frowns, clicking on it. It's probably just an edit or some rumour about her moving clubs or something. There's always posts like that.
The text is short, just a single pair-of-eyes emoji, and Alessia doesn't care about that. What she cares about is the twelve photos and two videos attached, all of them of her.
Her and Leah.
