“Am I speaking with Ilya Grigorievich Rozanov?”
Ilya went silent immediately. That was not his brother’s voice. Nor was it Katia’s, his sister-in-law’s. It was an aristocratic, cold voice. He went completely still.
“Yes.”
“I’m calling from the Child Services Department, Ilya Grigorievich,” the woman continued, and Ilya frowned deeply. “Your brother Alexei Rozanov and his wife died yesterday in a car accident.”
Twice in his life, Ilya had felt like this. The ice around his heart melted just enough for the numbness to vanish and give way to a sharp, stinging pain. It lasted only two seconds before he managed to compose himself. He didn’t want to feel anything for Alexei, so even if Katia’s death carried a trace of sadness—she was a mess, but she always tried to smile at him and cook warm meals for him when he visited Russia—, he dismissed the feeling entirely.
“So what?”
“You are the only living family member of their daughter. Your brother named you as her legal guardian, Ilya Grigorievich.”

Summary
Remorse is a violent dyspepsia of the mind, something that lingers in the confines of someone's heart, very soul, and being. Such a thing is difficult to treat because it cannot even be properly defined nor quantified because everything isn't gold that glitters, nor stars that have shined and signaled, nor is every sadness a tear that glistens. One man's remorse is another man's reminiscence.
Tom Riddle is drifting in a sea caught between caring and indifference to some of the crimes that he has committed under different parts of himself. Stuck between remorse for the boy he killed to be what he is now and rejoicing for he thinks he finally understands some of the deepest desires that he has always felt; can put some sort of label on the longing that has plagued him his whole life, the root of everything is Harry.
Harry is coming to reluctantly accept this Tom is not his Tom, nor is he Voldemort. He's too childish, selfish, and possessive caring about such a person, let alone feeling anything else for him is a mistake like planting an already sick mind and heart into more poisonous soil, with thick protective thorns growing around him, expecting anything good to blossom from it.

Summary
Following Voldemort’s return, Harry and Theo must navigate their new relationship as the wizarding world turns on Harry, and visions of the graveyard and the Department of Mysteries plague him. Dumbledore is speaking to Harry and telling him about the Order of the Phoenix’s mission — too bad the Order is as useless as ever. Almost as useless as the Ministry, who have gotten their claws into Hogwarts, ignoring Voldemort’s return and forcing Harry further and further into the political spotlight (something Theo seems to enjoy too much for Harry’s liking). But things can only get better from here, right?
