“Satoru, behave,” comes Suguru’s chiding voice from the kitchen.
Satoru gapes. “What?”
Suguru’s head pokes out. “Not you, I was talking to the cat.”
“The cat?”
The cat in question is staring balefully at Satoru. He doesn’t look half-bad—once dried out, his fur had fluffed up to nearly double its overall size, and with his eyes open, Satoru can see they’re an unusual shade of blue.
“Yeah,” Suguru responds, and there’s an unspoken obviously in his tone.

Yuji tugged at the red string. Firmly wrapped, infused with cursed energy, and almost translucent. He tugged at it with a bit more vigor.
“Stop messing with it!” Megumi grunted, “In Jujutsu sorcery, if two people trace the lovers' triangle, it ties their souls together!”
No wonder pulling at the red string felt like pulling at his heartstrings.

Yuuji exhales a soft laugh as he relaxes, fingers threading back into Megumi’s messy hair, combing through the tangles with gentle care. “Missed me?”
Megumi’s answer is barely a word – just a muffled affirmative grunt against Yuuji’s skin, low and rumbling. His hand moves from where it had been resting on the mattress, sliding lazily across Yuuji’s side until his palm spreads flat over Yuuji’s stomach again, thumb tracing agonizingly slow circles there.
The touch is tender, comforting, an unspoken reminder: you’re here, and I’m keeping you here.
