Summary
Percy knocked Annabeth back, his blade sliding through the coarse fur of Dr. Thorn and hitting bone. Wind howled and he heard Annabeth scream, but he held on. He twisted his blade as silver streaked his vision. He felt the muscles beneath him bunch, Dr. Thorn leaping, and then air whistling by.
And then he hit ground, tumbling free of Dr. Thorn while staring up at the sky and gasping for breath. Was the sky supposed to be so close?

Summary
Percy grabbed Annabeth’s hand, ready to make a run for it, but the prince's impossible speed made the idea moot. Before Percy could even make it to a squat, he stood looming over them, arms crossed. This close, Percy could see his eyes- mismatched, one pleasant green and one blood red, black, and piercing. His feet were smoking slightly, a loose thread on his clothes burning up like kindling. This was no demigod.
As he spoke, an unmistakable smile broke out across his features. A sincere, happy smile. “Demigods? As in, mortals? As in, alive?”

To escape the underworld, Percy and Annabeth need an expert. As he escorts them through the path he's taken so many times, Zagreus can only try his best.

“Is he famous or something?” Percy asks.
There’s a long, drawn out silence before Zagreus answers.
“No, he’s a bit of a nobody, really. We just look similar.”
