Winter was not Johnny’s idea of fun.
It was always cold. And it's raining. It didn’t matter if it was November or February—Manchester’s weather was relentless. The grey skies stretched endlessly, like a blanket that refused to lift. The air was sharp with dampness, the kind that seeped into your bones, making everything feel a little more miserable than it had any right to be. The drizzle was more of a constant mist, soaking through the collar of Johnny’s coat as he stepped off the red double-decker bus and onto the rain-slicked pavement.
The bus groaned away behind him, its tyre hissing on the wet road as it disappeared into the fog. He pulled his collar up higher around his neck, trying to shield himself from the wind that sliced through the streets like a knife. Great... another night in Manchester’s never-ending drizzle.
