“I play guitar,” Joseph shrugged. “I mean, it's no fancy violin, but I've been playing since I was a kid.”
Caesar’s expression shifted to mild surprise and interest. Eyebrows softly raised, the positioning of his instrument lowering. Joseph could sense it, too, a brand new connection forming between them, something new they had no idea they had in common. They weren't at each other's throats anymore after the Hell Climb Pillar, this was true, but they were in this weird middle stage where they were still trying to figure each other out. Still asking, ‘what the hell is this guy's deal?’. Well, if they were going to be training together for the next month, they needed something to bond over other than Hamon. Both could understand that much.
“Can you play Pachelbel's Canon?” Caesar asked after a few beats of silence, voice almost hesitant.
Or, after unexpectedly bonding over their shared passion for music, Caesar and Joseph begin performing duets together.

Summary
Joseph had always dreamt of flying—being regaled with stories as a kid of the incremental march towards flight, and the veritable explosion of flying machines that happened after, instilled in him a sense of wonder at the infinite world aloft. So, naturally, when the war in Europe broke out in ‘39, he took advantage of his father’s position in Britain’s Royal Air Force and hopped the first ocean liner to Southampton, eager to finally take to the skies.
But when he’s shot down over the Alps and finds himself beaten to hell and back with a guarded (and frankly grumpy) Italian pilot who claims to be just as stranded, he’s forced to work with the very enemy he’s been fighting for the past 12 months. Can they put aside their differences to survive the dead of winter and get back home?
