"So can I help you? You were gonna go smoke. And, I just, not that I mind your company, but did you want something?"
Richie stared at him like an ancient apparition, jukebox playing loudly, honey-encrusted coins jingling from some corner in the room, and jazz music filling up his sleeves. What exactly has he been drinking?
"No." Richie smiles, and rests his chin on his hand, his glasses reflecting a moonlight that is the dim lights, but sure do look like a celestial silhouette. The reflections look like teardrops, Eddie wonders what it's like to cry the hottest tears of your life, your throat filled with sweat and short gasps, and sheets gathered in your fists, and a loving someone, everywhere you breathe, every inch of your mind.
"No?" asks Eddie, wrapping his lips around the scruff of glass, his gaze low, calculating.
"Not at all." Richie mimics the stare, something hot splashing behind his glasses. Those same hot tears Eddie thinks about again. He's burning up, a divine ambiance enveloping his blotchy red face. Something hot is suffocating him, he can't place it
"Nothing?"
Slowly dropping his eyelids, he feels someone whispering something in his ear.
"Come home with me."

Summary
Love is a maze. When you think you've found its loopholes, it drags you back to where you started. It doesn't want us to discover its origin or meaning. It wants us to just simply love and be loved.
When the time comes, Richie will forget. And when he returns for the last time in 27 years, he'll kiss Eddie again, with the same traces of affection. Even so, he'll forget for whom he cried so much on the day when all evil was diminished. He will forget who gave him such a tender touch. He'll forget at who his first "I love you" was aimed at. His only "I love you", actually.
But for now all he can do is ask Eddie to finish the carving he's been thinking about for so long.
Maybe in another lifetime, Richie, my love.
No more dreams. Just breathe, Rich. It's okay.
"You're okay" Eddie's voice resonates in Richie's head throughout his whole life. Even when he doesn't know it's Eddie.
One. Two. Three. Breathe out. You're okay.

"The closet is much too small for the two of them. It had been too small years ago when it when they had crammed in with Steve to hide in a similar situation. But now? Sam's crotch is all but pressing into Bucky's thigh. They're face to face and he has to steady his breaths and look anywhere but straight ahead. It's warm, too warm. This is the single most embarrassing thing of his life, and as much as he wants to crawl away, Sam also wants to lean forward and close that tiny little space between their bodies.
It's something he's been thinking about a lot lately. Bucky. Kissing him. Holding his hand. Sam thinks about the way Bucky's smile makes his heart do a strange little flop in his chest. He thinks about the way Bucky goofs around to make him laugh. Sam especially thinks about the fact that Bucky promised to visit him again this Summer. Except now Steve isn't tagging along. In fact, they've been seeing less and less of Steve all around. So it's strange that Sam and Bucky are still hanging out without him. Considering the fact that they hate each other. Or at least, they did for the longest time. Now Sam isn't so sure."

Bucky’s shoulders tut. “Should you need to.”
Sam scoffs. “Yeah. Should I fucking need to.”

Richie drew in a breath, but it caught in his throat as he continued to look at her, the lie sitting heavy and hard like a rock in his throat. It wouldn't go away when he swallowed.
"But if you tell me," her voice dropped lower, soft and secretive, as though his parents might hear, as though Derry might hear, "that I'm right, I will tell you how much I love you, and how little I care."

Summary
