"And you took him into the woods— where he got taken, I mean, I don't even—" and he shook his head, frowning deeper. "You went against his mom's orders! Can you not even respect his parents?"
A choked noise snapped Mike back to reality. "You— what?" Robin blinked at him, her mouth hanging slack. "I respect Joyce Byers. Very much."

Soobin’s eyes meet Beomgyu’s, wide and intrusive, for the first time that entire ride. He inhales sharply around shards of glass, attempting to calm his nerves and thundering heartbeat.
“Beomgyu, when have I ever hurt you? Would I?” His voice is laced with sincerity, edged with solemn.
The letters strung together to form the shape of a ‘Yes.’ with his lips are dying on the tip of Beomgyu’s tongue, but in lieu of speaking, he snuffs it out with a brief shake of his head and a flutter of his dark eyelashes.
Soobin is calloused with a lurid love for camel blues and his red truck while Beomgyu is starry eyed and bruised with a mother-shaped death begging for him back to the riverbank.
When two scar-palmed lovers (or are they?) dash into a molasses soaked thoroughfare, they're thrown into the throes of balancing love, violence, and abandonment on life's axis.
