Adrian shrugs, sets his clothes and glasses on the counter beside the sink, and kicks off his briefs. Self-consciousness was never a trait he'd been burdened with--among many others--and Chris admittedly sort of envies that. Especially now.
But as Adrian steps into the tub and swings the curtain closed, a weird, itchy impulse ignites in Chris' chest. "What you mentioned earlier," he finds himself saying, voice raised above the running water. "About bonding with your best friend… what'd you really mean by that?"

After Harcourt rejects Chris at the rooftop party, he mopes in her bathroom rather than going home. Adrian's post-beer-shower arrival prompts Chris to revisit something he's recently learned about his third BFF.
