    Summary

“You do have the instincts of a fighter, after all.”

William didn’t let it show, but that did take him by surprise—he thought he’d been doing a pretty decent job concealing that particular side of him.

“Oh, do I give it away that easily?” he responded without missing a beat. “My self-defense tutor would be disappointed—my brothers insisted we hire him after I was kidnapped some time ago. He always said the element of surprise was to be my best weapon.”

Sherlock smirked, probably seeing right through him.

“Clever man,” he conceded, but William knew he wasn’t talking about his “tutor”. He was forced to suppress yet another smile. Damn you, Holmes.

We didn't have enough sherliam interactions in canon that were just "I know you know I know you know, but I have to pretend that I don't know" so I'm here to add some more (this fic is pretty much just a love letter to the catch me if you can scene).

But also: what if Sherlock figured out what William's planning just a little earlier?

    Summary

He set the stem of the fruit down and licked his lips, not missing how the man across from him tracked the action closely. Satisfaction, that had nothing to do with the sweet taste of the food, filled him. “It uses a number of equations that I honestly can’t make heads or tails of.”

As he spoke, he stretched out his legs, crossing one over the other casually. He could feel Lestrade shooting daggers at him but Sherlock could care less, more concerned with the way William watched the movement like a hawk tracking prey. He leaned forward and rested his chin in his hand once more, grinning, “And since you were ever so helpful in solving that incident with the baron, I thought who better to consult?”

    Summary

The beautiful red rose left on the threshold of his room was the only thing reminding William that today was 14th of February.

He bent and neatly picked up the flower, silently studying it with his only eye. William smiled, realising that all the thorns were carefully cut to prevent him from hurting himself, and turned around to place the rose on his writing desk.

All the great knowledge and immense mind of his were not necessary in the case of the mysterious little gift, for the only person who allowed himself to speak of William as of the red rose, and even witnessed him carelessly hurting himself with the thorns while leaning to smell beautiful flowers in the garden last week, was now waiting for him in the other end of the house.

Or William and Sherlock get involved in a peculiar secret game on Valentine’s Day and, astoundingly, both lose it to each other.

    Summary

After surviving the river and building a fragile, quiet life in New York, William James Moriarty discovers that vigilance alone is no longer enough to keep his body from failing. When a physician warns that something in him must finally be allowed to release, Moriarty turns, reluctantly, to the one person who has seen too much already.

What follows is not an affair, nor a simple crossing of physical boundaries, but an experiment in symmetry: control and surrender examined, dismantled, and shared in real time. As Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty navigate intimacy stripped of narrative and power, they are forced to confront what remains when authorship, restraint, and identity give way.

A study of trust, trauma, and the dangerous comfort of being fully known.
