Summary
Kei is a book editor, he knows how things go—at least, that’s what he tells himself when Akinori, a figure skater, quietly upends his life of monotony. The story of life falls into a predictable pattern of plot points and action beats tailored for dynamic protagonists, and love stories are even more commonplace, which is why he’s certain he can never be the main character of one despite how close he and Akinori get. As they spend more time together and Kei indulges himself in this newfound contentment of simply knowing Akinori, he’s confronted with the state of his life and grapples with the fact that maybe, just maybe, life isn’t a story after all.
