Summary
Rummaging through her pockets, Vi finds one of Powder’s hairpins. She bends it out, only meaning to kill time, but ends up crouched in front of the lock, making a real go of it.
“What do you think you’re doing?” a man’s voice booms from behind her.
“Breaking into a rich girl’s place.” Vi clicks her tongue, concentration lost. “Mind your own business.”
“Call the police. Now,” a woman’s voice joins.
Sighing, Vi pushes herself to her feet and says, “Calm down. My girlfriend lives here.”
She turns, jerks her thumb at the door, and freezes. Before her are two strangers she’s caught glimpses of dozens of times: Caitlyn’s mother and father, caricatures of their own photographs. Vi can’t tell if it’s disbelief or horror on their faces, or if it’s worth discerning between the two. Caitlyn’s mother holds out her phone, thumb hovering over 9.
“Shit,” Vi says.

Summary

The crowd roars, and Steve hears a couple of their Chicago friends near the stage boo in jest. Eddie narrows his eyes at them and laughs.
Steve looks around at this bar that their family has shared so many memories in - he tries and fails to not let his heart overflow at the sight of so many people coming to see Eddie play in the same bar that housed empty gigs not that long ago.
He wills himself not to cry.

Summary
When humans are turned, they lose all memory of their past lives.
After a vampire war that started in Tokyo and spread throughout Japan, those vampires that fought on the side of the humans are allowed to join what's left of society. Under heavy surveillance, they set up shops for volunteers to feed them and experience the high from their venom.
Kozume Kenma remembers nothing of his life before his turning, but when Kuroo Tetsurou walks into his coven's shop, everything changes.
