Summary
Keith and Lance get stung by one of two bugs: either a mostly-harmless lovebug, or a bug whose venom has no symptoms until sting victims drop dead fourteen hours later. When they insist they feel no different after being stung, the entire team assumes Keith and Lance have fourteen hours left to live. The boys are forced to await their shared fate in quarantine while the rest of the team scrambles to make an antidote in time.

Split second of darkness. Lance huffing their oxygen in like it is unlimited. Dull thud. That’s definitely going to bruise if he keeps it up.
“Lance,” Keith bit out, without meaning too, “You are kicking me every time you do that. Stop squirming.”
Lance gasped in offense, his voice pitched high and whiny, “I am not kicking you! You just put your legs on my side of the pod!”
Keith took a deep breath through his nose, wasting about one full minute of their oxygen supply. He kept his eyes, dutifully, off Lance’s face. He didn’t want to look at him. He didn’t want to have one of his Lance Freakouts this up-close and personal with the subject of the freakouts.
***Or, Keith and Lance get stuck in a pod, with less than a foot between them. It would be making Keith blush like a schoolgirl, but his blood is rushing elsewhere- the massive hole in his gut he's trying to hide from Lance.

“Nah," Keith answers dryly. He marches stoically downhill, but blanches when Allura plants her hands on his shoulders and coos, “Keith’s actually got something really worthwhile.”
“Really?” Lance drawls. Cause what’s he gonna do, throw darts? Glare at the other wallflowers til they wilt?
Quelling an eyeroll, Keith says, “I’m meeting someone.”
OR
After a week of mind-numbing political meets, Lance finds the only thing on Cyantine worth sneaking out for: an afterparty. The only problem? Keith's found something even more worthwhile. And Lance does not like it.
