"Please, don't go," Mira begged, her hands firmly cupping her face, despair overwhelming her.
"I need to help her," Rumi's lower lip trembled, hearing distant howls warning her that the packs were in danger, and it was her fault. "I'll come home. I promise I'll come back to you."
"Rumi, please..." She placed her hands over Mira's on her face, resting her forehead against hers.
She needed to go.
For the packs she had put in danger.
And for Zoey too.
Rumi thought she would never find a place to belong, that she was destined to be alone since losing her pack. But now that she has found love again and formed a home with her lovers, she would do anything for their safety.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”

Summary
After her voice failed during the Golden Live Show practice, Rumi ran. What she didn't consider was Zoey and Mira following her. Them finding out she is a demon goes nothing like she thought it would.
Now, Rumi's patterns won't stop spreading, and she can't deny the connection she feels to the honmoon. She also can't deny how weak it seems to be getting. Gwi-ma probably knows they were about to seal the honmoon for good and has something planned. Something big that has every cell in Rumi's body vibrating.
If that wasn't enough, there's also this stupid fluttering in her stomach every time Zoey and Mira get close to her, which has been happening more and more since they saw her patterns.

"What the hell is your problem?" Mira snarled, whirling around to glare at Zoey.
"We don't have time for that,” she replied, rolling her eyes. “Listen to me very closely. Someone is planning an assassination, and the target is you."

For once in her life, Rumi wants to be selfish.
Or: HUNTR/X works towards sealing the Honmoon and falls in love along the way. Pre-reveal Rumi, hiding both her patterns and her wants, loves her girls in whatever way she can until she's free (whether that means shielding Mira and Zoey in fights or pretending to be something she's not). She just has to hold out until the Honmoon’s golden. Straightforward enough, right?
